Who We Are

At Cottonia, we started off as a knitting mill and branched off into other endeavours in totally different industries. This was a result of our entrepreneurial spirit, our desire for diversification, our ambition for progress and our unwavering commitment to serving our customers to the best of our abilities.

Our goal is to continue to expand into new markets while still offering consistency and reliability to our customers.  Meeting your expectations in product quality at the most competitive prices continues to be our priority.

2004

2007 –

Branching out into emerging industries in the Bio Sector, Cottonia group partners in the opening of Byonerga, a collection & recycling facility of waste cooking oils. The collection of restaurant oils is an important component in Biodiesel production as it saves an estimate of millions of tons of fossil fuels that would have otherwise gone to waste.

2007

2008 –

Combining our knitting expertise and knowledge in restaurant wet waste solids, Cottonia collaborates with a plumbing supply company to develop & design grease trap filters. This new filtration system reduces the amount of solids and grease typically contained in waste water generated by restaurants in food preparation.

2008

2011 –

Cottonia Group partners in the opening of a second company in the Bio Sector, Benarix Environmental, sourcing waste cooking oil, animal and vegetable by-products to refineries and other processors who convert them into renewable energy sources.

Cottonia branches out into the Mattress and Furniture sector to answer to customers’ needs and begins knitting mattress, pillow and cushion foam covers. Cottonia then further develops an FR LIFESAVER barrier fabric, a double-knit fire-retardant interliner, for use in the mattress industry. Foam mattresses covered with this Fire Barrier sock fabric meet full-scale fire-retardant standards such as the CAL TB 129 and CFR 1633.
